Posted by: Alison on October 18, 2004 01:41 PMexcellent work. i like the colors you chose a lot, although not more than the deliciously snarky content.
Posted by: Darling on October 19, 2004 09:21 AMYou should really put this in print and pass it out before election day.
I'm sure someone will sponsor the project.
You can see videos of a lot of these Bush Flip-flops here ...
Good job on contorting evidence just the way you want it! Anybody can pick apart quotes and make them sound bad. ass holes
Posted by: Dylan on October 24, 2004 02:33 PMwhat a farce! if you research these "qoutes", you can clearly see that bush did not make any flip-flops. these people are betting on the stupidity of the American people. Bush puts more faith in the people he leads. i love the way this focuses on the younger crowd, and hopes that they will take these lies as truth because they are packaged in pretty ways. the smart people know better. they vote for Bush.
Posted by: ahiru on October 24, 2004 09:38 PMHmmm. i like smart people who spell quotes . . . ."qoutes". Please, vote for Bush - let's catalog, for history, the idiocy that is "compassionate conservatism". 100 years from now, history will remember is how mislead and misinformed the American public has been. Shame on you.
Next time, buddy, check the facts. None of the enclosed presentation has been refuted by the Bush campaign. If they think it's true, then who are you listening to? Rush? Fox? O'Reilly? Larson? I am appalled at the level of stupidity in the conservative "class". Dude, grow a brain, and then give an opinion. The First Amendment has never been treated so casually.

Ahh, it's so confusing!
Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average tax burden on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day". This is the day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the government. This year, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's the earliest it has been since 1991. Its latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred in 2000. Notice anything special about those dates?
Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no explanation and provided no data for this claim.
Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy men. Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns 4 mansions, all worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old Barn brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame). Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that sound right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a way to avoid paying his own!
Howdy, Steve -
Perhaps more confusing is the fact that Clinton isn't running, so I'm not sure what your comparison is meant to prove (and I'm not sure who's making these good / bad judgments). But if you must compare the two, you might consider adding a war casualty count.
Now, the Tax Freedom Day statistic - an average doesn't tell us a thing about who's paying what, and for my part I'd rather pay until May and celebrate Deficit Freedom Day than take a tax cut that's going to cost everyone more in the long run. Bush is spending plenty, and somebody's gonna pay for it some time.
You need an explanation about how Americans are paying more taxes under Bush? Look up the AMT. Oh, and think about the local taxes and property taxes that are going up because of federal cuts.
And all your last paragraph proves is that Bush's money isn't in real estate. It makes more sense to say that the man who's cutting capital gains and estate taxes makes more money on his investments and will have more to leave his kids than most of the rest of us.
